ā˜… What we will see

Four things, one hour

Ā

1. The first look

We’ll go through what The Fundamentals of Makeup Knowledge covers in full detail, why it was made and who it’s for. You hear it first.

Ā

2.Ā Special guest

With my special guest, Siso Georgiev, I’ll discuss prosthetics, working with a big special effects team, and what a set actually asks of you. Find out first-hand what it’s really like as a professional makeup artist.

Ā

3. Q&A Session

Makeup, cosmetics, the industry and the course. Put yours in the chat and we’ll answer them live.

Ā

4.Ā Special thank you

Announced at the end of the night.

Ā

Siso is an incredible special effects artist and has worked with me on more productions than I can count. He really is the first person I call when a job lands. We met as students on the same course in Bournemouth when I came back as a visiting speaker and he handed me his business card and the link to a jumper he was wearing. I bought the jumper for myself and had him join me on a job, the rest is history!
He is coming on to talk all about the industry and take on some technical prosthetics questions. Getting into special effects as an international student without a route in and working your way onto a big team is hard - and he’s done it. So there’s no one I’d rather bring on as a special guest.
If you have a question for him, put it in the box when you registerĀ and I will make sure it gets asked.

SECS

Hi, I’mĀ Sophie

I am a qualified makeup artist for television, film and multimedia and have been for the last 6 years. I am autistic, which is part of the reason I teach the way I do, in depth and with structure! I won series three of Glow Up in 2021, aged 21, while I was still a student and ever since have been arguing that makeup education leaves out the half of the subject I find most interesting, the knowledge of why? Why do we do, what we do?

Since launching my first two courses I have taught over two hundred students and I run a private group chat where I can speak with you and us with each other. Students tell me the thing they value most about it the courses is that there is no background music, no sponsorship and no product I am being paid to mention, it’s honest, always.

This autumn I start a PGCE at University College London to train as a teacher of art and design. The final course arrives the same month I go back to being a student again myself, which was not planned… but seems just right. Let’s learn together.

See itĀ first
